The Practice Room is excited to announce our third collaboration with the Close Encounters Theatre of Zürich: SPRING AWAKENING- The Rock Musical.  Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening is based on the 1891 German play Frühlings Erwachen by Frank Wedekind. It presents the struggles of adolescents as they confront the harsh realities of adulthood.

CET’s project gives 24 young actors from the Zurich area the unique opportunity to participate in a professional production in one of the most renowned theatres in Zurich. The young actors, between the ages of 14 and 28, are amateurs seeking professional acting training. From January to Oktober (with a brief pause due to COVID-19) Close Encounters Theatre will train them in acting, singing and dance to prepare them for their performance on stage. Side effects such as greater self-confidence, teamwork, cultural exchange and improved English skills cannot be excluded and are intended.

Our founder, Melissa Tranchet, is acting the role of “Adult Woman” in this dynamic production. The Practice Room is a proud producer on this project.
